Samsung’s new gaming monitor features HDR mode and quantum-dot technology.
After launching India’s first curved gaming monitor earlier in the year, Samsung on Wednesday launched what it calls, the world’s biggest curved QLED monitor in the country. Samsung’s new 49-inch super ultra-wide curved monitor — the CHG90 — has been designed specifically for businesses but comes with features that should satisfy hardcore gamers as well. The curved QLED monitor, as expected, comes with a hefty price tag. The CHG90 will cost buyers a whopping Rs 1,50,000 and will be available for buying from Samsung shop to begin with.
The CHG90, according to Samsung, boasts of an industry leading 1800 radius of curvature, a fast response time of 1 ms and 144hz refresh rate for a blur-free experience, high dynamic range and the company’s in-house Quantum Dot technology, a VA panel to prevent light leakage and flexible ergonomics to go along.
The monitor has been designed to work seamlessly with Samsung’s Dex. Dex, to recall, offers “a unique solution that transforms Samsung’s high-end Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note 8 into a desktop by providing a secure desktop-like experience,” according to Samsung.
To that effect, Samsung’s new curved monitor also supports an app called Easy Setting Box S/W on the desktop that can partition the screen into displays of various sizes and functional configurations for enhanced multitasking. Some of the other features include “increased speed, finer control and multiple input ports that make it easier to connect the display with any device.
“Samsung’s new curved monitor has been designed for extended usage, it says, and uses Flicker Free technology to assist in light comfort. The monitor, in addition, comes with an Eye Saver Mode that filters out blue light wavelengths, thereby reducing eye-fatigue.
“Samsung has always been at the forefront of consumer-centric innovations and the launch of QLED curved monitor is in line with that very commitment. A perfect companion for serious business professionals and gaming enthusiasts, the monitor is not only the biggest in the category, but also a trend setter in terms of specifications and technology,” Puneet Sethi, vice president, Consumer Electronics Enterprise Business, Samsung India, said.
