This Friday Netflix will debut new movie The Week Of, a movie in which Chris Rock and Adam Sandler plays dads who bond in the run up to the wedding of their two kids. Rock and Sandler appeared on The Tonight Show on Monday to promote the movie and Rock talked about a time he tried to flirt with Rihanna, only to realize he “did not register at all.”

“Rihanna is so fine if she didn’t sing her life would be exactly the same,” Rock joked. “She’d have clothing lines, people would be asking for autographs.”

Rock told a version of the story in his 2018 stand-up show Tamborine, a special that dealt with the comedian’s divorce from wife Malaak.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on Monday he added to the tale, saying of Rihanna: “I thought ‘Hey, I’m single now. Let me give it a go.'” However, it did not go smoothly. “She didn’t even register me as a sexual being. She was saying ‘Where’s Ray J?’ I was, like, in the uncle zone.”

Topics discussed included Chris getting put in the uncle-zone by Rihanna, all of them being on SNL, and their Netflix stand-up specials. In fact, Adam is filming a new Netflix special in Newark at NJPAC THIS WEEK. Tickets are still available for the shows on April 25 & April 26 (Rob Schneider opens both).

You can watch the appearance above, and the movie’s trailer below.

The Week Of tells the story of a devoted, middle class father (Adam Sandler) determined to pay for his daughter’s wedding despite the prodding of the wealthier father of the groom (Chris Rock). A series of calamities forces the dads (and their families) to come together and endure the longest week of their lives.

Fallon also asked Sandler about a special celebrity connection: his relationship with Justin Bieber. “I know the Biebs,” Sandler admitted. “I met him several times. Very nice kid. Very nice to my family.”

The comedian goes on to talk about Facetiming with Bieber during a trip to Hawaii where he unknowingly excites a pool full of kids. “The Biebs causes a reaction,” Sandler said. Sandler also revealed he has his own stand-up special coming to Netflix sometime in the near future. Watch that clip below.

The Week Of hits Netflix on Friday, April 27.
