What is St Patricks Day? 

St. Patrick’s Day is the feast day of Saint Patrick. A fifth-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Also, known as the “Apostle of Ireland. At the age of 16, he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave. However, he escaped and converted from Irish to Christianity. He died on March 17.
The first New York City parade took place in 1762, and the green color became linked to the St Patrick’s Day festivities. On this day, people wear or paint themselves green to signify Irish Christian pride. It can also visible that people dye their food green to celebrate the day and attract tourists. 

Attend A Parade

The next activity we can do on this day is to attend a parade. Cities with large numbers of Irish immigrants performed extensive celebrations that includes parades. Boston held its first colonial American celebration of St. Patrick’s Day parade in 1737. It is now celebrated all over the states. The largest and rowdiest St Patrick’s parade was New York’s 5th avenue parade. To celebrate the day, Chicago colored its river green.

Eat Some Traditional Food

Festivals are incomplete without tasty traditional food. Earlier the traditional Irish food for St Patrick’s day was boiled bacon, bread, and potatoes.

But later, people started enjoying various dishes to honor the day. Corned beef and cabbage and even beer is sometimes dyed green to celebrate the day.
